Dr. Linka Griswold holds a doctorate in clinical forensic psychology and two master’s degrees. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Pepperdine University and earned her doctorate from Alliant International University, Los Angeles. Dr. Griswold is a DBT-certified, licensed marriage and family therapist, and a licensed clinical psychologist in California with over a decade of clinical experience. Besides her clinical work, she has served as a professor of psychology and statistics at several universities in the Los Angeles area, including Pepperdine University, Malibu, and Antioch University Los Angeles.
Dr. Griswold has extensive experience working with opioid dependency, chronic pain, and trauma survivors. Her clinical training includes pre and post-doctoral internships focused on forensic neuropsychological testing, research, and data analysis. Before starting her private practice, she was the program director and primary therapist at a trauma-informed residential treatment center at Promises, Malibu.
Dr. Griswold’s clinical repertoire includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), substance abuse recovery and relapse prevention, family systems approach, psychoanalytic, and solution-focused modalities. She challenges and encourages clients to focus on their strengths and promotes mental and emotional growth. Using evidence-based treatment modalities, she integrates contemporary and scientifically supported models within clinical psychology. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma and complex PTSD, dual diagnosis, chronic pain, and relationship issues. Dr. Griswold works with clients from diverse cultures, spiritual and religious backgrounds, genders, and ages.
